-  The first one is :

Château de Montmirail

Vacqueyras, in the Vaucluse, in France , Vacqueyras and Gigondas wines are produced.

The soil is stony in certain places and sandy-clayey in others.

The privileged aspect and diversity of the land assures explicit wines of character.

The situation of their Gigondas vines, nestled at the feet of the Dentelles de Montmirail, is an especially privileged location.

The traditional bands of vines on the slopes hold grape varieties of mostly Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

This setting, snuggling between pine trees, thyme and rosemary under a southwesterly Provencal sun, assures a complex environment guaranteeing great wines.

After, let me take you to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a medieval village on the side of a hill, guarded by the ruins of an ancient chateau towering above.

A literal translation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, "the Pope’s new house", is actually true.

From the chateau hill you have an outstanding view in all directions, mostly of vineyards, of course.

Off to the east and south, the Rhône winds across the fields, and the afternoon sun turns it silver.

Stony Ground, the earth is amazingly rocky, but that’s one of the secrets of the outstanding Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine, the thirteen grapes wine.

The stones act as a storage heater, soaking up the Provencal sunshine during the day, and releasing the heat into the night, long after sunset.

-  The second winery is Château Mont Redon

By the judicious blending of the thirteen grape varieties that are grown at Château Mont-Redon we endeavour to produce wines that combine complexity with ripe fruit and soft tannins.

In their Châteauneuf Rouge, this is demonstrated by the way that the wine develops over 10 to 12 years.

Red Châteauneuf du Pape, its colour is usually dark purple in the first years, slowly evolving towards a deep, intense ruby.

Over time, the opulent fruit aromas are enhanced with spicy and smoky notes which, in turn, evolve into a rounded and delicate bouquet.

Their Châteauneuf Blanc is very attractive in its early years but it also has a great ageing potential.

If you are looking for an aromatic, fruity and elegant wine, drink it within 2 years of the vintage.

If your preference is for a more mature white wine, then wait 5 years or more until their wine develops secondary aromas, reminiscent of honey and acacia.

And the last winery is Laurent Charles Brotte and his famous Fiole du pape, This wine is non vintage because it is a blend of our best Châteauneuf-du-Pape cuvées from different vintages, aged in our traditional oak casks. Therefore the consistent high quality from one year to another explains its worldwide success : LA FIOLE DU PAPE is one of the most sold Châteauneuf-du-Pape bottles in the world.

Before the wine tasting, do not miss the visit of the Wine Museum

Created in 1972, the Brotte Museum was entirely restructured in 2000 in order to respond to the new wishes of its visitors : to learn and and do research.

The public can then, at its leisure, do research on the land, the grape varieties, and the work of Man, the three fundamental elements that play a part in the appellation system.

Your trip in this world of culture, tradition and savoir-faire finishes in the wine-tasting hall.
