Arles

In February 1888, Vincent Van Gogh arrived in Arles, where he lived for two years.

Strongly impressed by the light and colors of Provence, Van Gogh worked on over 400 paintings and drawings during this period.

And open air market every Saturday morning ( local products, special atmosphere…)

Evocation of Van Gogh’s life, amidst the setting where he lived, source of some of his most beautiful paintings.

Drive through the Alpilles along the beautiful Val d’Enfer road.

Les Baux de Provence
- Casual lunch or Snack in the village.

The road up to Les Baux from the southeast passes trough olive groves and vineyards. And after…the sightseeing is amazing.

There are incredible rock formations in this part of the Alpilles, with the road seemingly cut through solid rock with single strokes of some giant’s knife.

The village area is a stone and cobblestone medieval village. Just inside the entrance to the village are narrow cobblestone streets, terrace cafés, souvenir shops.

Saint Rémy de Provence.

The village of St. Rémy is pretty and picturesque, and the old Gallo-Roman interior is circled by the remnants of the circular 14th-century wall and the protective circle of buildings.

- Visit of Saint Paul de Mausole monastery

Vincent Van Gogh was voluntarily confined in the Asylum of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole beside Saint-Rémy. During this period of his life he painted two of his most notable works : Starry Night and Self-Portrait.

Option highly recommended
